Originally used in the 15th century in games across Europe, in the late 18th century tarot cards began to be used by the occult for divination purposes. Today, tarot cards are mainly used for fortune reading, with the intention that those having their readings can take away their own interpretations from the cards. The card featured on this necklace is inspired by traditional tarot deck cards and consists of an orange enamel shooting star alongside white rolling clouds, a blue wave and dainty black stars, all in colourful enamel infill. Underneath the image, the words ‘the star’ are written in bold black lettering.
Made from 14ct gold plated brass, this trace chain features a lobster clasp to fasten and can be worn at 40.5cm or 45cm using the extender link.
